JOB SUMMARY:

The Design Engineer is responsible for design, developing and implementing product, equipment and part designs to support new product developments, research and process improvements. This role reports to the Product Development Engineer. The Design Engineer will work closely with the Compliance Engineer and Structural Analysis Engineer to make sure designs meet AS9100 and pass FEA (when applicable).

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and develop design solutions, engineering drawings, design processes, and engineering change orders to facilitate customer and internal projects.
  • Design Engineers may be responsible for creating the CAD and PDF drawing of parts, products and/or equipment including but not limited to mandrel designs, boss designs, and the overall tank and/or equipment related to handling or moving products.
  • Understanding ICT's design processes and structure and making sure designs are in compliance with these rules and structure.
  • Participate/lead discussions during design reviews.
  • Conduct structural, material, and dimensional analysis for designs.
  • Design production tooling, qualification tests fixtures and assembly rigs.
  • Strive for the continuous optimization of best practices within ICT's NPD process.
  • Support creation of structural packaging and graphics.
  • May be involved with providing drawings and designs for patent disclosures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Reports to Product Development Engineer
Basic Qualifications:
  • B.S. Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering degree, or
  • Associate's degree or 2 years of college/university coursework AND 2 years of relevant work experience, or
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • 2-5 years of engineering design software experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Technical background, with ability to think strategically, understand market dynamics and consumer/customer insights and leverage them into new product concepts.
  • Strong planning, prioritization and project management competencies.
  • Understanding of product margins/financials and significant analytical ability.
  • Ability to excel in a team atmosphere of creativity, risk taking and delivering results.
  • Ability to meet strict and demanding deadlines.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs; willingness to learn G-Suite.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain US DoD Clearance.
  • Ability to meet International Trade and Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.
