The Engineering Manager (EM )is responsible for developing and executing product design, development, and documentation of all products for an assigned product category. This role reports directly to the Upper Level Management. The ME will work closely with marketing, product line, operations, sales & sourcing to gather and prioritize product and customer requirements to support and ensure customer satisfaction goals are met and target gross margins are achieved or surpassed.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Reports to Upper level managers (CEO, COO)
  • Manage new product development programs through a defined stage/gate process from concept to commercialization that meet/exceed customer expectations, regulatory requirements, drive consumer loyalty and deliver incremental volume.
  • Understand ICT's and competitive product lines, feature and benefit, along with pricing and product specifications.
  • Support and grow the pipeline of new product concepts, including documenting new invention through patent disclosures.
  • Lead the collaboration with the production team to bring innovations into both the industrial and aerospace channels through the ICT Project Review Board process.
  • Develop and recommend pricing strategy for new and existing products.
  • Work with Director of Communications to ensure that product claims are used responsibly and convey a strategic advantage.
  • Work with Compliance Engineer, Quality Assurance Manager & Production Manager (or Director of Operations if position is filled) to ensure product meets AS9100 compliance
  • Strive for the continuous optimization of best practices within ICT's NPD process.
  • Support creation of structural packaging and graphics.
  • Support Channel Marketing on consumer/customer marketing programs for go-to-market commercial products.
  • Support company efforts on SKU rationalization and materials management.
  • Directly reports from Design Engineer(s), Compliance Engineer, Structural Analysis Engineer
Basic Qualifications:
  • B.S. Mechanical, Chemical, or Material Science Engineering degree
  • 5+ years or relevant work experience
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • 3-5 years of new product development experience.
  • Previous experience managing and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching products.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Technical background, with ability to think strategically, understand market dynamics and consumer/customer insights and leverage them into new product concepts.
  • Strong planning, prioritization and project management competencies.
  • Understanding of product margins/financials and significant analytical ability.
  • Ability to excel in a team atmosphere of creativity, risk taking and delivering results.
  • Ability to meet strict and demanding deadlines.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs; willingness to learn G-Suite.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain US DoD Clearance.
  • Ability to meet International Trade and Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.
