JOB SUMMARY:

Plan and implement purchasing activities related to the procurement of materials, parts, components and equipment; train, direct and manage the staff on buying practices, develop new sources of supply and monitor all activities as they related to the purchasing system within the QMS; select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the production, assembly and integration of iCPV's and other parts and products.
  • Manage technician team and all parts of the manufacturing process.
  • Create and maintain build schedules that list all discrete fabrication and assembly tasks. Ensure that all parts are fabricated, assembled, and/or purchased at the correct time to facilitate the build schedules.
  • Resolve, analyze and solve manufacturing discrepancies, while interfacing with the quality team (resolving issues for design, fabrication, and assembly).
  • Coordinate with engineering to develop production procedures/processes and manage the transition of parts and assemblies from development to high flow rate production.
  • Lead process improvement projects to continuously enhance production operations on the shop floor.
  • Ensure a strong focus is placed on safety and achieve excellent safety performance with the team.
  • Use quality metrics to continually improve the quality output of the manufacturing team;Play a leading role in ensuring root causes for quality issues are identified and appropriate improvement actions are put in place.
  • Review work instructions and make change recommendations when needed to improve processes.
  • Meet tight production schedules to achieve high rate production.
  • Responsible for assessing, staffing and vetting the appropriate skillset needed.
  • Achieve cost targets by improving labor efficiency and driving design for manufacturability improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for training improvements and coordinate with technical training team to develop new hire and advanced skill training programs.
  • Develop, initiate, and enforce system policies and procedures.
  • Monitor labor hours and overtime and implement improvement plans and time management with staff.
  • Capacity planning of equipment and personnel.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and other departments to minimize production interruptions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Directly reports from Quality Assurance Manager, Lead Technician, Technician Team
Basic Qualifications:
  • B.S. Engineering, Business, Project Management degree, or
  • Associate's degree or 2 years of college/university coursework AND 2 years of relevant work experience, or
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • 5-8 years of new product development experience.
  • Previous experience managing and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Technical background, with ability to think strategically, understand market dynamics and consumer/customer insights and leverage them into new product concepts.
  • Strong planning, prioritization and project management competencies.
  • Understanding of product margins/financials and significant analytical ability.
  • Ability to excel in a team atmosphere of creativity, risk taking and delivering results.
  • Ability to meet strict and demanding deadlines.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs; willingness to learn G-Suite.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain US DoD Clearance.
  • Ability to meet International Trade and Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.
