The Quality Inspector will uphold the safety policies Infinite Composites has created and oversee the product development process to ensure that all products meet quality standards. The Quality inspector is responsible for performing tests on products at various stages of production to ensure that company and customer specifications are being met and company quality standards are followed.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to the production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • Accepts, rejects, or rework defective and nonconforming components. 
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into the quality database.
  • Ability to use various measurement equipment and coordinates calibration and repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
  • Can proficiently work from blueprints, diagrams, customer specifications, drawings, inspection instructions, and checklists.  
  • Assist with customer interaction with regard to onsite audits, desk surveys, material returns, corrective actions and compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with process engineering and manufacturing teams to help identify and communicate potential risk and quality non-conformities. 
  • Execute product quality improvements through preventive or corrective actions.
  • Assist with identifying and the control of nonconforming material and parts.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to manufacturing personnel and other departments, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or associate's degree or 2 years of college/university coursework AND 2 years of relevant work experience, 
  • or High School Diploma/GED required and 4 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • 3-5 years of quality, inspection, compliance and/or audit experience.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Strong planning, prioritization and project management competencies.
  • Proven history of understanding industry safety standards and quality expectations
  • Strong understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing industry
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or Lean Manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to meet strict and demanding deadlines.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Proficient in G-Suite programs and E2 Shop preferred, but not required.

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain US DoD Clearance.
  • Ability to meet International Trade and Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in excess of 8 hours per day and 5 days per week.  Willing to work all required shifts hours, overtime and weekends, if required.
